Komatsu excited for a massive Wheels at Wanaka event this Easter

Komatsu New Zealand is looking forward to an action-packed Easter weekend as Gold Sponsor of Wheels at Wanaka, as part of its ongoing investment in supporting the local South Island industry.

We have committed to a large presence at the show, where visitors to the site will be able to take a look firsthand at some of Komatsu’s most exciting new models and smart construction innovations, purchase fun promotional items like scale models as well as chat with the team about Komatsu’s extensive parts or aftermarket service needs – all backed by our new South Island Hub.

Komatsu New Zealand Managing Director, Phil Pritchard says Wheels at Wanaka is a highly anticipated event for good reason.

“Wheels at Wanaka has over 50 acres of competitions, demos, and entertainment, and our team is looking forward to every minute of it.”

Kids and families attending will be able to try their hand operating one of two Komatsu PC18 (1.8 tonnes) mini diggers, Komatsu’s smallest excavators available in NZ while raising money for Ronald McDonald House, and those a few years older can talk to Komatsu’s recruitment team about the 2024 Apprentice Program Intake.

Phil says Wheels at Wanaka is set to be a fun and relaxed way for people from across the industry to get together, share ideas, and see what is coming to the sector.

“We’re always keen to support the local industry however we can, and getting behind events like this is an important part of that. It’s a tight-knit industry in New Zealand and we know those who run businesses of every size, and those who work in those businesses, are always keen to see the latest and greatest, and our team loves the opportunity to connect.

“We know that 2023 is shaping up to possibly be a tough one economically, and we are conscious of doing what we can to support customers and the industry through continued investment and a genuine focus on looking after customer needs at every part of their business evolution.”

Phil says that with a recession looking more and more likely, Komatsu is doubling down on its commitment to customers, with our new equipment, aftermarket, service, and finance teams all focused on contributing to a vibrant industry across the country.

“We are proud to partner with our customers and industry across New Zealand, including the South Island. It’s been 18 months since we officially launched our South Island Hub and it’s been fantastic to be able to deliver the next level of support and reach to our customers in this region. We’re serious about building our presence in the south so we’re looking forward to Wheels and Wanaka and continuing to embed the hub and deepen customer relationships.”
