Komatsu LTD President and CEO, Kunio Noji, has awarded this year’s prestigious Presidents Award for 2012 to Komatsu Australia’s Neil Burge.

NBHIGH-(1).jpgA big congratulations to Neil Burge, along with fellow team members Rodrigo Yanezand Masaki Mori for their efforts in successfully introducing the Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) to Rio Tinto's mining site at West Angelas, Western Australia.

The awardrecognises Neil and his team for demonstrating well-organised globalworkmanship, as members of the Komatsu Group support team for the AHS project (which was formed by relevant sections of Komatsu, KAL, KAC and MMS).

The project began in June 2008 and involved working closely with Rio Tinto. A successful working relationship was established with Rio whichcontributed to the achievement of the AHS operational targets for safety and production. These great milestones have also contributed greatly to RIO Tinto's "AHS 150 & Beyond" project to boost driverless truck fleet to 150 under their Mine of the Future programme.
