Komatsu gearing up for a big Wheels at Wanaka this Easter weekend

Komatsu New Zealand is looking forward to a jam-packed long weekend as Silver Sponsor of Wheels at Wanaka as the show celebrates its final ever event in 2025.

Komatsu will have a big presence at the show, where attendees will get the chance to explore the latest models and smart construction innovations, and chat to the team about Komatsu’s solutions across the construction, forestry and extractives sectors, including parts, finance and aftermarket service.

Komatsu New Zealand Managing Director JC Nyssens says the last ever Wheels at Wanaka event is highly anticipated for good reason.
“Wheels at Wanaka has been a cornerstone event for our industry, and while this final event is bittersweet, our team is looking forward to making the most of it.
“A big drawcard for Komatsu this year is our new WA475-10 Wheel Loader, which is making its way around New Zealand for people to demo in their Quarries. The wheel loader has quickly established itself as a versatile machine that blends power with advanced technology to offer efficiency and productivity for waste and quarry operations. Plus, it offers an impressive 30 per cent improvement in fuel efficiency compared to its predecessor,” JC says.

Kids (and big kids) will be able to try their hand at operating a Komatsu PC18, 1.8 tonne mini excavator, Komatsu’s smallest excavator available in NZ. For just a gold coin donation they’ll be able to dig, move sand and test their operating skills, with all funds raised going to Koru Care Southland.

JC says that Wheels at Wanaka is set to be a fun and relaxed way for people across the industry to come together, share ideas and get a glimpse of what’s ahead for the sector.
“We’re proud to support events like this because they give us a chance to connect directly with the people who keep these important sectors moving.
“As a proud Kiwi company that is part of the Global Komatsu network, we’re committed to looking after our Kiwi customers and providing tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of our local industry.
“At the same time, we’re able to leverage the expertise and resources of Komatsu’s global network, ensuring these customers have access to world-class support and innovation right here at home, and Wheels at Wanaka is a perfect example of how we can showcase this,” JC says.

“No matter the size or location of the business, we’re here to support our customers with the best possible solutions – backed by a nationwide team of specialists who truly understand the unique challenges they’re facing. In today’s environment, it’s more important than ever for us to come together, and the entire team is looking forward to a successful Wheels at Wanaka event.”
