Komatsu New Zealand has announced the extension of their partnership with the nib Blues women’s rugby team for another three years, highlighting their commitment to supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives on and off the field.
Komatsu will continue as the official partner of the nib Blues women’s team, which will not only support the development and promotion of women’s sport but provide Komatsu’s upcoming apprentices a team of high achieving role models to inspire them in and outside the workplace with their determination and community spirit.

Komatsu New Zealand Managing Director JC Nyssens says the company is excited to continue their partnership with the high-performing women’s rugby team, as there are clear parallels between both organisations.
“We both have a strong focus on promoting diversity and inclusion in traditionally male-dominated industries, and through this partnership, we aim to keep these important conversations at the forefront.
“We both also thrive on being innovative in our fields – whether that is in the Blues’ approach to a game or our approach in our developmental opportunities around apprenticeships,” JC says.
Blues CEO Andrew Hore says “Komatsu are wonderful partners who truly support our wahine in their quest to become leaders on and off the field. We are very appreciative of Komatsu’s support of the nib Blues and look forward to furthering their partnership goals over the next three years.”

Many people are not aware of the diverse roles and career paths available working within the utilities, construction and mining sectors, and this partnership will help Komatsu promote the different career opportunities available to a different audience and give women greater opportunities to make their mark.
“We’re excited to partner with the Blues for another three years and continue to create value together,” JC says.
