1921 Komatsu Ltd established in Japan
 
1931 Komatsu developed Japan’s first crawler- type farm tractor
 
1952-1953 Komatsu expands in to motor graders, dump trucks and forklifts
 
1965 Komatsu starts distribution in Australia
 
1965-1968 Komatsu introduces wheel loaders and excavators
 
1968 Komatsu Ltd establishes an office in Sydney
 
1980 Komatsu is now distributed in NSW, QLD and WA
 
1982 Tasmania part of the Komatsu family
 
1992 $189 million sales, 360 Staff, 10 Locations, $105m Inventory
 
1993 (Oct) Haulpak & Dresser products in Komatsu range
 
1993 (Dec) Ingersoll-Rand & Blasthole drills now distributed
 
1995 Komatsu Corporate Finance established to provide finance facilities to our customers
 
1996 (Apr) Distribution of Moxy Articulated Trucks begins
 
1996 (Aug) Demag Hydraulic Shovels part of the range
 
2001 NS Komatsu Pty Ltd becomes Komatsu Australia Pty Ltd
 
2005 Komatsu restructures as a national company with regional focus
 
2009 Komatsu Autonomous Haulage System went into full time operation 
 
2011 Launch of the world’s first Hybrid Excavator
